12eTunis — Tunisia’s elected President Beji Caid Essebsi told Wednesday APS that his first official visit will be to Algeria, affirming that the cooperation between the two countries will be strengthened in the future.

“I have already announced during my election campaign that my first official visit will be to Algeria. I confirm it as a President,” said Essebsi.

“The Algerian-Tunisian relations will further improve in the future,” he added, on the sidelines of a meeting with the members of his party Nidaa Tounes.

In his speech in the meeting, he hailed the Tunisian people and all those who supported him during the legislative and presidential elections. He notably thanked “the Tunisian women” who massively voted for him with “more than one voices.”

Essebsi called on his party’s leaders to hold a meeting to discuss the issue of forming a coalition government. more allafrica
